Description: | There are many unique challenges when designing wall and roof systems for northern Indigenous housing including extreme climates, short construction seasons and over-crowded conditions. Importing solutions from the south without understanding these challenges has lead to many issues related to mould growth, rot and premature decay of walls and roof systems. Fully understanding these challenges and then applying the principles of building science can produce real solutions and help us create heathy, durable and efficient housing. |
